How do I get more information and schedule an appointment?

For more information about our counseling services and to schedule an appointment, please call 916-728-LIFE (5433). The receptionist can answer some basic questions and will schedule your appointment for an initial assessment. If you have to cancel your appointment, please call your therapist on his or her direct number 24 hours prior to your appointment. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged the full session fee.

What are your fees, and will my insurance company pay?

Sessions are 50 minutes and fees range from $100 to $110, depending upon the clinician. Because we do not bill insurance companies directly, payment is due at the time of service. We offer a limited number of sliding-scale payment arrangements to assist lower-income households. Group therapy sessions meet weekly and are paid as a monthly tuition at the first session of each month.

Insurance policy

Some insurance plans will reimburse for mental health counseling and some will not. LifeSTAR does not bill your insurance for services; however, if you can choose any health care provider (PPOs only), you may be eligible for reimbursement for your payment. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company in advance of your session. Some insurance companies may reimburse for group therapy treatment services as well.

Confidentiality policy

Every effort to maintain strict privacy and confidentiality is maintained, including a private exit from our office suites. Under California state law, all information and records are kept strictly confidential between client and therapist, unless specific exceptions apply. Detailed confidentiality disclosure statements are discussed at the beginning of all treatment in addition to consent to treatment forms. Note: strict confidentiality cannot be guaranteed for cell phone and Internet communications outside of the above description.
